Tax and compliance risk

TaxRock

Continuous monitoring of a client's IRS account activity, because a federal tax lien can prime your position.

Everything below came from that company’s own website or from dated trade coverage, and the sources are at the foot of the page. Where they publish nothing, this page says so rather than filling the gap with an estimate.

Two claims, kept apart

Tax and compliance risk

The relationship

A fact about two companies. Ours to assert.

FactorFox works with TaxRock. Confirmed 28 August 2026. It requires no code to be true and it implies none.

The connection

A fact about software. Engineering’s to evidence.

Available

Read from the integration register at build time. This page cannot say anything else.

The same two questions are worth asking of any vendor’s partner page, including this one.

What they do

What TaxRock actually sells.

  1. TaxRock automates the monitoring of Internal Revenue Service account activity across a portfolio of taxpayers, replacing the manual transcript pull that most firms do periodically or not at all. It sells to tax professionals, lenders, factors and tax resolution firms, priced per monitored taxpayer.

  2. The current platform, described by the company as TaxRock 2.0, launched on 11 February 2026. Trade coverage refers to a prior generation of the platform, so the business predates that relaunch by an undisclosed period.

  3. Founded and led by Ron Jost. Based in Carlsbad, California.

Why it matters

Why a funding business should care.

Written for the lender rather than for the borrower, which is the audience every page on this site is written for.

  1. This is the only partner in the group addressing tax exposure, and it works on the client rather than the debtor, which makes it easy to misread. It is not debtor credit and it is not a UCC search. It watches your own client for the kind of Internal Revenue Service exposure that can end up in front of your security interest.

  2. A federal tax lien can prime a factor's position. By the time one is filed the useful window has usually closed, which is why their own framing is that exposure rarely starts with a lien.

  3. The specific signal worth understanding is missed federal payroll deposits. When the expected deposits stop appearing, something has gone wrong in a business well before it shows up in an aging report or a covenant test.

What would move

What would flow between the two systems, and in which direction.

This is the question a technology partnership starts with, because it determines whether there is anything worth building. It describes the exchange, not a shipped feature.

  1. Inbound to the platform: monitoring status, change signals and prioritised risk flags identifying which clients changed and why they were flagged.

  2. Outbound: the taxpayer roster and, critically, the taxpayer authorisation without which no transcript can be pulled. That authorisation is a real operational step rather than a configuration detail.

  3. They state they run an integration partner track and offer an API. It is worth noting plainly that no public API documentation exists at the time of writing, and that two pages linked from their own navigation return an error.

How every status word is defined

What we could not establish

Published deliberately, rather than quietly left out

Founding year, headcount and funding are not published. A regional business publication headline implies a corporate relationship with an entity called Rockwater Associates, but the article is behind a paywall and we did not read it, so we do not repeat it.

A partner page that has an answer for everything has usually stopped checking. Several companies in this group publish no founding year and no headcount at all, and that is a finding about the industry rather than a gap in the research.

Sources

Where these facts came from.

Check them. That is the entire point of publishing them.

The commercial relationship was confirmed by FactorFox on 28 August 2026. The connection status above is not confirmed by anybody at FactorFox. It is read from the integration register, which only engineering writes to.

Ask us what connects today, and we will answer with the register open.

Not with a logo strip. If the answer is that nothing connects to a vendor you depend on, you will hear that in the first conversation rather than in week five of an implementation.
